Complaint Review: IIB Institute For Independent Business

IIB IIB Institute For Independent Business IIB disappointing dishonest WATFORD Internet

I would like to confirm that IIB is an inefficient and autocratic organisation.
Obviously good at recruiting and cheating, they provide a training method that does not work for most people, useless mentoring and very low quality free appointments. The local network (except maybe UK, USA) is small and less effective than other ones such as BNI for example, and the international one has not helped me even once in 4 years as far business opportunities are concerned.

IIB does not admit internal critics and any Associate who complains, will be threatened or being taken off or even sued.

It is obvious that IIB does not want to make any survey by an independent company, asking all the associates whether they are satisfied that they could publish on the home page of their web site. Why ?

I advise to stay out of it.

Joining the IIB has been the best decision I ever made. I love my practice.

The IIB gave me the training and the network that enabled me to build a consulting practice that is now highly successful.

I have been an executive associate of the IIB for about 2.5 years. When I joined the IIB, knew nothing about working as a consultant for small and medium size businesses; I was a retired Aerospace Executive who only had experience with the large corporate environment. The IIB had to train me in how to build trust quickly with the business owners. It took some reinforcement (mentoring) and practice but I now can build relationships with business owners very quickly. In sort, the IIB took me from a blank sheet to success.

As a rebuttal:
- The writer claims: I would like to confirm that IIB is an inefficient and autocratic organization. My experience is very different. I run my own consulting firm. As long as I stay within the ethical limits of the Code of Conduct, the IIB does not tell me how to run my firm. I do what business I want, with who I want to do business and the IIB does not interfere nor even know what I do with my clients. This freedom is part of the structure of the IIB so the claim that it is autocratic could not be more off the mark.
- The writer claims that the methods do not work for most people but then why are there over 5000 successful associates world wide?
- The writer states that associates who are critics are threatened. Many of the associate in my region are very outspoken about anything without fear of retaliation (after all, what will happen since we each have our own consulting firm). Many of the suggestions are being implemented, especially at our local regional group which is very active and supportive. No organization is perfect but we are free to express our true feelings.
- The writer claims that the international IIB has not helped this person in four years. I do not know how this person learned about the IIB but the IIB taught me how to be successful as an independent consultant and continues to support me with a network that ties me together with all the other 5000 associates around the world. The international IIB does provide international conferences (free of charge I would point out) for us to network with the other IIB associates. Because of what the IIB has provided me in training and the network, I do not need the international IIB to provide me work; I get more opportunities than I can handle without being Given a handout from the IIB. As they say, give a person a fish, he will eat for a day; teach a person to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. The IIB taught me how to fish. What more can I ask?

Failure Always Creates Criticism

#3Consumer Comment

As a member of the IIB for 5 years I appreciate that in some cases personal failure has caused criticism, this is not however my experience. My income has been above expectations and very good, my clients have been helped by the vast resources of the IIB and the organisation has very stringent conduct requirements.

Constructive criticism is good, vindictive criticism shows a lack of basic understanding.
The IIB offers through its associates significant professional help to thousands of businesses world wide , long may it continue
