My husband and I own a small business with two locations. We have just discovered a $50/mo charge on one of our Verizon bills from ILD that goes back at least to Dec09 if not further (in process of determining that now).

This charge comes through on our Verizon bill as Billing for ILD Teleservices, which makes it sound like a legitimate charge on our telecommunications bill.

Looking into this further, it gets quite confusing: Verizon is billing us on behalf of ILD Teleservices. And, ILD Teleservices, in turn, claims to be billing us for the Business Max service by Advanced Business Services.

A websearch on Advanced Business Services + Business Max turns up only consumer complaints. We can't find a company website, company address, phone number or any information on what this Business Max service may be.

ILD claims to be a responsible third party biller, yet Advanced Business Services can't be located at all. We have never received any information on this Business Max service that we are being billed for and have no idea when, why it was added to our phone bill, and who supposedly authorized this recurring monthly fee.

In our opinion, Verizon is every bit as guilty as ILD Teleservices and the ghost company, Advanced Business Services. It's a certainty that each of these companies is taking their share of the $50 that has been illegally billed these past months.

Who knows how much of the $400+ we will get back, if any. We will definitely have a bill block put on *all* of our phone lines immediately (personal and business).

If you have been victimized by ILD, please report it to the FCC, FTC, the Attorney General, and your state representatives. Heck, report it directly to the White House, too. This obviously has been going on for years and it has to be stopped.

Hello Nasser,

I'd like to assure you that ILD strongly condemns and does not participate in cramming which is the practice of placing unauthorized or misleading charges on a telephone bill.

We process over 120 million transactions each year for buyers and merchants that's over a half of a billion dollars in purchases, and only a small fraction result in disputes and chargebacks, just like with credit cards. When there are disputes, ILD investigates these with its merchants and makes sure that credits are applied back to the phone bill, just like credit card company standards.

ILD continually monitors complaint levels against the merchant who the bills through us, and if we find a merchant in violation of our policies, we have and will terminate their billing agreement.

So, if you feel you have been crammed or charged without your consent, please let us know. Send an email to askild@ildmail.com or call us at (800) 953-7765.

Best,
Sandra
