Our project was turned into one of the worst experiences of our lives because of Deborah Thomas and her company Illumination Designs, Inc. in Grand Junction, Colorado.
We hired Chuck Lopez, who has a great reputation as a builder. We did not hire his wife. Instead, we got Chuck's team talking us into what a "great designer" his wife was and that they now use her for in-house design work. Our troubles began right there.
The personality of this woman was bad enough. At least at first, we thought her non stop babbling and jittery movements all the time like she was bouncing off the walls, was her personality type. We later found out, after we were forced t o investigate the forged invoices we had received from Lighting Zone, Inc out of Torrance, California; that Deborah Thomas is a convicted drug felon! Meth trafficing and use. Obvious to us she still must be on the stuff.
When our lighting arrived with shipping labels from all over the United States, broken and missing parts (some of it wasn't even anything we had ordered!), we started back tracking. Ended up with finding that Thomas Lopez works out of her garage, has no professional office or store front and doesn't even have the ability to order direct and hold her own representative accounts. She fronts herself through Lighting Zone, Inc. When we tried to get our Hubbardton Forge parts for our broken fixture, they told us it was illegal what she is doing! You can't interstate ship products and they had no idea the California based Lighting Zone, Inc out of Torrance was doing this kind of thing. Totally illegal on both their parts.
We probably would have just moved on and never recommended any of these people again, even though the work by Chuck was great and we actually felt sorry for the guy married to a piece of work like her, if we had not gotten a notice from our lender that one of her invoices appeared to be false and forged. Of course we told the bank about all we had found out about her, including her felony record and meth addictions. Unbelievable what we went through.
DO NOT DO ANY KIND OF BUSINESS WITH ANY OF THESE 3 COMPANIES.
You'll be sorry you ever did.

Imagine my surprise to hear that I am not a scammed client of Deborah Thomas (Lopez) and her company Illumination Designs, Inc. located in Grand Junction, Colorado.
When I heard this incredible tale in this "rebuttal" of yours, Deborah, it really took me by surprise.
Having never heard of these people and their companies, I decided to give them a call and see if they knew you and what their experience with you was.
Wow.
As you and Chuck now know, I heard enough (as did my wife who has written the other complaint on this site about you under the title of "taken for a ride" (so true); to prompt us to give these people a hand in all they have going on where you are concerned. Your Cease and Desists are now in your attorney and your hands so you are fully aware we have decided to help them out.
Here is reality:
1. Deborah Thomas Lopez attempted to sue this woman for well over $60,000. All sorts of claims against her. This individual held her ground with Thomas and won against her. The little less than $15,000 actually owed to Illumination Designs, Inc. was the final invoice amount for (guess what?) broken, ripped off, cross shipped, missing parts and in some areas totally wrong and not ordered lighting fixtures). All the rest of Thomas's claims went completely out the window when it was discovered that Thomas (Lopez) had actually lied about the people supposedly backing her claims up. Most of them didn't even have a clue what psycho Deborah was doing. Many of them claimed to have spoken to her for less than a few minutes on the phone as she stalked them down. The only reason this ficticous lawsuit was paid the invoices remaining was to eliminate further attorney costs. I understand there were three lawyers present on the day of settlement and all three looked at Deborah Thomas Lopez as a loose cannon and likely on some kind of drugs. (Boy, do we relate to that one. Hateful expression, jittery head bobbing, leg bouncing and hands fluttering. All over the map with mouth flapping. Yep. That's Deborah Thomas Lopez, President of Illumination Designs, Inc. on steroids or more likely meth.
2. The design center mentioned in this rebuttal by psycho Thomas is owned by others and not as Thomas claims. Apparently, they have been after psycho Deborah Thomas (Lopez) for some time now for defamation, slander and libel. They have never met her, never done business with her, nothing to do with her. Yes, they employ and support fully the woman Thomas Lopez obsesses over daily.
3. Protection order, restraint order all sought against Lopez due to her getting so desperate in her obsession that she actually had the nerve to impersonate this individual online. Yep. Criminal impersonation and identity theft. Multiple profiles impersonated on LinkedIn, Twitter, Google. Even one on a dating site if you can believe it. And to cap it? She hooked up with another woman who has some major deep potential criminal stuff going on in her own life and ratcheted her online creations through the roof. Both now named as suspects to authorities. Do we think Thomas Lopez may be in on more than just this bizarre stalking thing? Would not be surprised.
We stand on our complaint on this site against Deobrah Thomas Lopez, President of Illumination Designs, Inc.
And we most certainly will help these other people out by having revealed ourselves to them since this "rebuttal" of Lopez's is 110% false claiming we did not write this report.
And here's the final irony.
We are really good people who would have left this completely as we did. With a public report on a trashy website with the hopes it prevented others from falling victim to Thomas's fraud and Chuck Lopez's disregard for his clients and homeowner.
Instead, thanks to his wife, he can count on a whole lot more headache.
No doubt this megalomaniac in Deborah will keep on with her wild rants. For us, we have heard quite enough.

My name is Deborah Thomas. The Rip-Off Report was NOT written by one of my customers.
The letter was written by a woman I sued in 2008 for breach of contract. She ordered lighting through my company and came up with every excuse not to pay. During mediation which was requested by the judge I proved that all her excuses were lies.
I was awarded a judgement of 14,573.24. Which was the amount she owed me for the merchandise. I have a copy of that check!!
The woman's name is Shawnee Ryan. At the time of my lawsuit, she owned a business in Glenwood Springs, CO. called Duir Construction and Design. You will see numerous complaints about Shawnee Ryan and Duir on this very web site. She claims only two people have authored these, but that is not true.The complaints here represent only a fraction of the stories and victims. Through courtsco.com, I myself uncovered over 30 lawsuits against Shawnee Ryan and her business in the last couple years. Due to all the negative publicity, she changed the name of her business to Glenwood Design Center (in Glenwood Springs, CO.)
During the months prior to our mediation, I uncovered and spoke to 20 victims of Shawnee Ryan's. Which at mediation I gave her a copy.
The victims took the information to the District Attorney in Glenwood Springs.
In the weeks that followed, more victims ver uncovered. Garfield county District Attorney Martin Beeson's lead investigator has to date interviewed over 40 of Ms. Ryan's victims.
To my knowledge the Garfield County District Attorney's office will be prosecuting Ms. Ryan on 7 felonies.
You do not have to believe anything in this letter. If you want to learn the truth for yourself, please call the Garfield County District Attorney's office in GLenwood Springs, CO. and ask for their lead investigator.
It is not enough that Shawnee Ryan steals and lies. Ms. Ryan also slanders the former customers that she stole from, just like she did in the letter to Rip-Off's.
One other thing Ms. Ryan, Tom Zamora, the head investigator for internet fraud, is very aware of who you are now and so does the FBI. You should not use a person's name in a blog and lie about what they said when people can check the information out. Laws for cyber bullying are being put into place to punish people for doing that.
As far as your two letters to Rip-Off report's since last weekend about me, go for it. The difference between you and me Shawnee is I can prove with out a reasonable doubt you are a liar and all you can do is bully people, steal and hide. You are a very disturbed individual and in need of mental help.
Please anyone that is questioning the contents of this letter, please call Garfield County District Attorney's office in Glenwood Springs, Co.
And stay away from this woman and her business.
Ms. Ryan remember one thing, any lies you print about me or anyone that has to do with me only creates more negative for you. I will rebuttle all your lies and more people will know about you. Like I said, go for it.
Your threats to me and my husband are pathetic. Leave us alone!
