Complaint Review: Image Motors South Bend

Please Beware if you do business with any Image Motors in the South Bend area. They are a buy here pay here auto dealer which that alone is a rip off as they charge four times the amount the automobile is worth and somehow get away with with it. For a 2002 economy sized car with over 150,000 miles which is kelly blue booked at 2178.00 they charged 11,547.00, and of course people buy from them even though they are taking advantage of people whom are unable to get a loan due to credit issues.

When you go to purchase a vehicle from them they ask for a down payment and that you purchase insurance for the vehicle then they will release the car to you to drive off. Simple enough as they make it seem, however, no where in their agreement do they state that you must purchase six month insurance in advance nor do they tell you this even after they go over the insurance papers you just purchased before they allow you to leave with the car. Instead they will wait until you have had the car and made payments for a couple months then come out and repo with out your knowledge and inform you that the repo was due to not having a six month insurance policy. They will also inform you that they do have gps installed on the vehicle to allow them to locate the car if needed, although they claim that none of their cars have a cut off switch which is controlled by them, this is an untruth as their cars are known to not start often due to their gps system and they will have to come out and fix it at their convenience that is. Also, if they do come to repo your car and your stuff being in the car they will not allow for you to get your belongings as they will say that they need for you to pay the towing it cost for them to repo the car inorder for you get your belongings, and even after you pay their fee they will make you wait, when you are finally able to get your belongings they will not all be there if they are of any value and when you talk to the salesmen at this location they state "we are not responsible for your belongings, its in the contract, and if you had purchased six months insurance you would not have this problems" First of all, before allowing them to make you pay a fee to get your belongings check Indiana repossession statues, as they can not charge, and regarless of their contract they are responsible for the belongings in your car. I am speaking with attorney's to form a class action law suit on Image Motors, if any of you have had this same issue with them, please feel free to contact. And I would highly suggest you not conduct business with Image Motors of South Bend, I do know that all buy here pay here lots tend to be crooks, however, this seems to be one that goes beyond crooked.
