I had a great difficulty in dealing with IMG insurance reimbursement. Avoid this company!

I suddenly had a very bad chest pain in Suzhou, China a year ago. It was a life-threatening situation since my artery is blocked over 89%. The doctors implanted a stent for me right away. (NOTE: All the exams I did before the day of emergency did not reveal I have any blocking artery.).

Here is my bad experience with IMG:

l  I called IMG right after the implant in the hospital to give the doctor name and phone number to IMG for them to call. IMG did not do so. I wrote emails to IMG, they did not call the hospital either.

l  After a few months they ask you to get the itemized bill from the hospital.

l  After another few months they rejected my claim by saying it is pre-existing condition. If you disagree, you need to file a claim again including the itemized bill from the hospital again.

l  Another few months later, rejected again by insisting it is a pre-existing condition.

l  The phone calls to IMG seems useless. They do not response.

It seems to me that the above process is the IMG’s tactic to not pay the clients. Shame to IMG!

P.S. :The artery aging is a natural process. It is certainly NOT the pre-existing condition.  The sudden chest pain for the treatment is exactly what the medical insurance for.
