Impact Computers dishonest, fraudulent in Wages, Overtime, Commission, No education, Unbusinesslike conduct liar Gulfport Mississippi

I was employed by Impact Computers for approximately four months (just long enought to find out how shady this business is). During my time with Impact, my pay was taxed at approx. 30%, though I was never provided a W-4, or any type of tax record for that matter. I was also told that I would not recieve time and a half for hours worked over 40 (found out later this is a federal offense). I did "commission" work off the clock - these were cash sales, no warranty, of used parts/computers, which I never recieved my 25% commission.

At first, I was told that I would be reimbursed mileage for service calls I made using my personal vehicle. After several unpaid service trips, I inquired about the mileage only to recieve an entirely different story....I WOULD NOT be reimbursed for service calls!?!

A few weeks into the job, our secretary (answers phone, works front desk/customers, book-keeping, light cleaning) found another job. She was not replaced and the duties fell upon the two technicians (myself and another gentleman). I don't mind picking up the extra responsibility, but, to my dismay, I found myself in the empoyers office recieving lectures on how my productivity was not "up to par". Of course not! I'm now doing secretarial work as well as my regular dutes because you are too cheap to hire another employee. **Note: the ex-secretary, also his girlfriend, still recieves a full paycheck every week despite the fact that she no longer works there.

No Worker's Compensation!?! Come to find out this is also illegal. Just goes to show the intensity of irresponsiblity in this establishment.

I have two years completed towards a degree in Computers, and no person, other than myself, that was employed here had any type of certification or degree in computers or a related field. It was just a "learn as you go" type of environment. I would have felt much more comfortable with a knowledgable supervisor.

Four months into this job, I had enough! I was spending a lot of my time off work, completing unfinished business with unsatisfied customers. I am a hard working individual and know tha value of a dollar. Several of these customers that I helped were victims of Impact Computers laziness/half-a*s work. These poor victims were satisfied when I was done, but I cannot afford to run around picking up behind a companys mistakes without any compensation.

I wrote my letter of resignation, laid in on the desk, and walked out!

I returned the following week to return tools that belonged to Impact only to find that they refused to cut my paycheck for the time I had worked because I had made them mad by walking out. How professional is that? All employment in the state of MS is "at will". Grow up Solomon and Samantha. Do the community a favor and lock your doors!

There is plenty more I can tell you about this business, if interested, please submit a rebuttal with your e-mail address and I will reply as quickly as I can. Thank you for your time and attention. I hope that people will reconsider before taking their business, or employment here.

My simple objection is that this person is trying to file a ripoff report as a former employee. The site is meant to be used by customers who have been ripped off, not employees just mad at their employer. For this reason alone it should be removed, to preserve the site for use of consumers.

On May 27, 2011, I ordered part # P000377270  CD-RW/DVD-ROM TEAC DW-224E-T4 G8CC0000Q810 as it appeared
on the Impact Computers website. I confirmed that the part was the TEAC drive over the telephone with their representative to avoid any error. They substituted  K00025740 CD-RW/DVD-ROM which is not the part that I ordered, nor was it an approved substitute. The only approved substitute is P000377280 CD-RW/DVD-ROM  PANASONIC UJDA-740TB1-A. Needless to say, it does not work.

Their "substitution" policy is not apparent on the ordering page, nor is it easily discoverable by examining their FAQ. Their representative Melissa gave the following web page http://www.impactcomputers.com/iorpaandyous.htm. She refused to browse there because, "it would take 10 clicks". The page is also not easily discoverable, if at all, from the sitemap of Impact
Computers. Conversely, it appears prominently in the top right hand corner of their invoice. I asked Yuri why the policy is so well hidden. He indicated that he could not explain why, and would have the owner send me a message indicating why this is so. The foregoing indicates that the "substitution policy is hidden for all practical purposes until the goods arrive. That is dishonest.
