Complaint Review: Impact Telecom

 Impact Telecom is apparently the parent company of Intrinsic Communications/Matrix Telecom. Individuals from Impact Telecom contact you posing as operators from AT&T, etc. offering lower monthly bills. The recorded calls are "cut and pasted" to create a phoney authorized switch to Intrinsic as the service provider. If you attempt to contact Impact Telecom using the phone numbers on caller ID, you'll find that the number is no longer in service or you will get an answering machine. If you call the customer service number on the web (888-411-1175) or the general information number (866-557-8919) you end up on hold indefinitely. It took two weeks to get rid of these crooks and resume service with AT&T. We have received an exorbitant bill from Impact Telecom, covering a fabricated time period, which we do not intend to pay. To protect your LEGITIMATE, authorized local/long distance service provider, contact that provider and have a "freeze" placed on your phone numbers so they cannot be slammed! We have reported Impact Telecom to the FCC and our state attorney general.
