I hired this company on March 3, 2005 for a move to Georgia on March 28, 2005. I got in writing and had it confirmed four times at a quote of 1,396.00 and the movers were suppose to pick up my load first and between 8-10 am on the day of the move.

Ten oclock came and went with still no one showing up so I called at almost noon to see where they were and Karen told me they were having truck trouble and that they were getting another truck and they would be there within an hour.

Well that hour came and went also so I called back and their battery was dead and they were working on it to get it going, it was going to be another hour more. We planned our move to leave California by noon that day, but that didn't happen.

At three in the afternoon they finally showed up after picking up another load in San Deigo when I was suppose to be the first one loaded. Before they even loaded the 14 ft. truck I asked if it was going to cost more and that they measure our things before putting it on the truck and they said they couldn't do that until it was on the truck.

It took them 1 1/2 hours to throw and I mean throw our things into that truck and then charge me another 1879.00. When I said I couldn't pay that they would not take it off the truck.

To make a long story short here when I called the office to make arragements with them about our things they were rude and told me they sent our stuff to Oklahoma, when I asked why they said they had storage there. I asked them not to do anything with it until I called them back two days later but when I called back they said it was in CA.

Made me think they had lost it all so I asked for picture proof that they still had it and I asked for 6 months in a row after that and they would not send me any proof that they even had our things. They wanted me to take their word that they had it and after all they had put me through with this move I couldn't do that. They have lied on every phone conversation that I had with them.

Every time I talked to that company they were rude and even mean in their dealings with their customers.
My move was in March and in June I got claim forms from the company without anyone telling me they were coming or what they were for. I filed the claim and sent it to the claims department in FL. and never heard anything back from them.

I have had one of the guys Joey who says he is part owner call me a stupid woman and the another CEO of that company call me a liar and as of this day March 25, 2006 I still do not have my belongings or my daughters.

As far as I am concerned they have commited a crime for what they have done. The only way I can do anything against them is to go back to California and file a suit against them or pay an attorney here to go after them. I don't have that kind of money to go after someone who stold from me. I am the victem and they have all the rights, thats pretty sad if you ask me.

There is a whole lot moe to this but it will take forever so I will stop here, this has been going on for a year with this company and they have cost us four times what they qutoed me and more.

I just needed to add that I did pay this company 1100.00 at the time when they did pick up or belongings and that they were also four hours late getting to our place on the date of our move.

May not have to file in CA

Sharon, go back and read all of the paperwork they ever gave you. If they did not say in writing that you have to file any court cases in CA, then you may be able to file in your own state and THEY have to pay to defend themselves (they won't show).

Their claims department, Anthem Claims Management, is known for stalling or not turning in claims. Your claims forsm almost certianly never got to the insurance company. You can call them and see. Although Imperial's license has been revoked and they may be out of business, you can call the insurance company and see if there's anything that can be done, seeing as how you submitted the claims six months into a nine-month filing window. The policy below was good from 9/23/04 to 9/22/05.

The incorporation is still active, so you can still get them with a lawsuit. Here's their agent for process:

The owner of their website is ELI ITSHAK. The site is down, but still says this message: "For any questions, please e-mail jennifer@imperialvip.com"

If the paperwork does not say in fine print anywhere that all court cases have to be handled in CA, then file in your own state and see if they even show up. If they don't, it's a defaulted judgement for you.
