My Father has had several strokes and is Hemiplegic (Paralyzed on one side)and is wheelchair bound. He requires daily home care from morning to night. We hired Maria Martinez, the owner of In Home Quality Senior Care for this service. We put down a huge deposit to ensure his care.

After taking his deposit, Maria came to our home to work, she invited her boyfriend to stay in our house to make himself at home while she worked. Then after a few days she left for Mexico, leaving one care giver to work 7 days a week, non stop with no alternative plans or back-up should something happen to that newly hired care giver.

Understand, my father, if not assisted, cannot fend for himself or even get out of bed. Because of this insecurity we fired Maria and her agency. Maria was fired before all of my father's deposit money was used and we requested she return the remaining amount. She refused. Maria ignored our repeated calls and attempts to contact her. We had to take her to small claims court to obtain a judgement against her and we won. Maria has yet to pay my father back.

Maria claims her agency is Christian based. Ripping off senior citizens is not Christian behavior, in my humble opinion.

Do you have an excuse as why they didn't refund the money they aren't entitled to even after a judgement against them?

I googled Maria'a name to get in touch with her to invite her to my daughters wedding and I am surprised to find this. My mother was cared for by Maria's home health care services and I cannot understand why anyone would post something of this sort on the internet. I had a very close relationship with Maria, as her caretakers' spent 9 months with my mother and I spent alot of time working with Maria as support with my terminally ill mother. I haven't spoken with her in quite a while, since she decided to go medical school. I remember hearing a little about this situation and she was quite disturbed. We were out to lunch when she received a few phone calls from the son of the man that was receiving her services, they were quite threatening. If I remember correctly, she mentioned that the son of the man was very sexually inappropriate when she was at their home, apparently he came out of the room with just a towel and was promiscuous-if a man can be. Maria is a very young and attractive girl, I can see why a man would be attracted to her but one should not act so inappropriately. She spoke very highly of the man she was caring for, so I was surprised to hear of such occurrences. I guess they canceled her services and hired one of the caretakers that she had working with them, so I would say that if this story of theirs is true, then I it wasn't right both ways. I do not think that it is right to hire a business's employees without consent from the employer, its not fair. I am sad to see that people go out of their way to put things like this on the internet because they are ultimately permanent. I don't see anymore complaints about this company, so I am sure that this not something that happened more than once.
