This firm offers a free 40 GB iPod if you'll fill out some forms and go through some marketing nonsense. The catch is that after you've filled out part of the forms and they have your e-address, you reach a page where you need to select certain options to go further, and the necessary buttons don't appear on the screen. It's a cul-de-sac, so you never reach the point where you can qualify for the iPod.

Meanwhile, they've got your address... and since they got mine, I've been deluged by spam, some of which has apparently carried viruses (my security program detected a couple of these and removed them, but woe unto anyone without a good firewall).

I've also received intrusive phone calls from telemarketers. Long ago I registered with the Direct Marketing a*s'n to block all telemarketing calls, but these scumbags get around the no-call list on the pretext that you've "voluntarily" signed up.

I wrote them immediately to complain and never heard back. No great surprise there.

I've heard of genuine and legitimate "free iPod" deals elsewhere and thought this would be one of them; going through Incentive Reward Center's process was hasty and naive on my part. Don't make the same mistake, or these cockroaches will waste a lot of your time.
