Income Strategies Institute Lost Over $10,000 to this Scam ! Provo Utah
I went to a 3 day seminar near Oakland Airport and signed up for the first class which was $5,000 to the glee of some guy named Russ (I have no idea how much they pay these "instructors") who stated he lost everything he owned in a divorce (which seems to be the common theme among these individuals) but was able to be financially independent with the help of this company. The $5,000 class was over the internet, taught by an inexperienced individual who kept apologizing for his lack of experience as an instructor. The information he provided was given quickly and lacked structure (terrible for taking notes). If I was smart, I would have stopped there, but I thought that a "mentor" would be a better solution. The company promises a "one-on-one" experience. The "one-on-one" experience turns out to be delayed by three days (because you're entitled to 50% of your money back if you decide to cancel within 72 hours-it's in the fine print) and limited to a phone conversation which the "mentor" tells you to write up a 5 year outline of your goals with the company. Jay, the mentor, who was too busy and transporting me to another "mentor", told me, an individual was half way committed would pay $5,000-$7,000, a more serious individual would pay $9,000-$12,000, but an individual who wanted to succeed would pay $15,000-$18,000. The amount would guarantee the degree of success. I choose $10,000 for the mentor and was assured a real estate agent in the area would be contacting me and I would qualify for the loan needed. Neither happened, and I was out the money.
