Indian Run Village mobile home park Honey Brook Pennsylvania
Indian Run Village is probably the worst place to live! Yes, it is to be expected that rents will go up, as everything else does, but the condition of this place and it's management, leave much to be desired.
I have lived here 6-1/2 yrs. and this is the 3rd manager I have dealt with. The trees are so tall that nearly every storm brings down branches on homes and sheds but the "park" accepts no responsibility for that. However, if anyone plants anything, including flowers, as I was told by mgmt., they cannot take it with them when they move. The streets are deplorable with potholes. No matter how slowly you drive, they wreak havoc on your car. I have spent more money on car repairs than anything else since I have lived here. There is a 15 mph limit, but no one is ever stopped for speeding. Several of the roads do not have stop signs, which seems to give everyone the right to speed through. There are numerous dogs in this park, I have 1 of my own. My dog is walked several times a day on a leash. I found him at the SPCA & am trying to solve issues he had before the adoption. Although he is very friendly, he acts as if he will attack if I don't let him "visit". Many people in here have fences & leave their dogs unattended in their yards. That's fine with me! After all, what else is the fence for? It's the dogs who are trapped on someone's deck unattended that upset me. There is 1 dog who is able to open the gate enabling him to attack any dog that walks past! Nothing is said to that owner! Up until this past winter, the streets were plowed and salted fairly well. The winter of 2008-09, however, the streets were not plowed for several days until the last storm, which only produced 1/2" of snow. That's when the plow was out! I personally saw the salt truck - a pick up with a person sitting in the back dropping 1 handful at a time. That did a whole lot of good on these steep hills! Then, when the plow broke down, it sat on a side street for 6 months! Let someone living here park a broken down vehicle and see how long it stays there! Another issue is that apparently, new people moving in are not told that each trailer has 2 assigned parking spaces. When they have company, they do not tell their guests that the people who live here must have their parking spaces available when they return home. One new neighbor has 3 children, 2 of which drive. These people moved in & immediately took 3 spaces for their own parking and then proceeded to have parties & let their guests use any space available on the street, leaving the rest of us with no where to park. When this new neighbor was reported to the office, absolutely nothing was said to them! Certain people are very much targeted by the manager as those she does not want to have here. She takes great joy in evictions especially if the home is a bit run down or older. She will promise things and make deals with you and stab you in the back, rip off your money, and laugh the whole time! She will tell you anything you want to hear and then do as she pleases. There are so many empty lots with exposed wires, many of which are live. I know this because I have been zapped! Empty trailers provide shelter for the stray cats and the drug dealers, but she will evict you for leaving your broom on your front porch! This same person also manages Valley View. I don't know anyone there so I won't comment any further.
Trailers can be a great place to live, especially if you're just starting out on your own or down sizing from an empty nest. If you're lucky enough not to have a mortgage, then lot rent is relatively inexpensive, taxes are usually cheaper and there are neighbors in case of emergency. However, I definitely will not recommend Indian Run to anyone! This is not an "upscale" park! It's a dump with the highest rent along rte. 322! The manager IS prejudice - not because of race or religion, but because of the paycheck you bring home!

I like when they plow and take out the speed bumps, that's always good for some lulz. (internet talk for some good laughs, if you're chatspeak-illiterate) Yeah this park sucks. I've lived here longer and we complain but usually amongst ourselves and our family, not to the whole world/internet. Chillax. And move. xD

I kinda laugh at the complaints you make, its every where . I can not go in my yard because the elderly lady next door has to come running out and yap for ever. That would not be so bad but she brings her 5 dogs along and they yap right along with her! I can not even hear her, and she wont tell the dogs to shut up either. I will want to go do something outside but tend not to because I do not want to deal with her and the pack of muts.Ah.. the one day she was gone, those bastards were barking at me nonstop until they got the hose turned on them. They shut right up! You need to keep to yourself, and let the rest go nuts.
