Indigo Angels Selling Sick Cats at outrageous prices - BEWARE!
To those of you out there looking for a "miniature Persian" you owe it to yourself to read the fine print here: I have fallen victim to the marketing scheme of so called "Palm size/ Pocket Persian Kittens" sold only at Indigo Angel Cattery.
What a wonderful thought, a miniature cat that stays palm sized it's entire life. Perhaps I was the fool in believing this false marketing ploy, so much so that I sent over three thousand dollars to Shelly Haukoos of Indigo Angels Cattery in Marshall, Minnesota for one of her malnourished, under developed Palm sized Persians.
My poor Indigo Angel ate non stop for the first hour after he arrived, at first I just thought it was from him being on the plane for so long but he was clearly starving. You could see his protruding spin as he devoured his bowl of food.
I was afraid he was going to get sick and throw up from the gorging so I reached down to pull his food dish away from him and he started growling at my hand. At that moment I realized this poor helpless kitten had been starved half to death to obtain it's "palm size status".
I fell victim and had spent thousands of dollars with Shelly Haukoos palm-pocket miniature scheme. I have never seen a baby animal in such deplorable conditions in my entire life.
After the kitten finally stopped eating I rushed him to the 24 hour emergency vet clinic where they immediately admitted him for severe dehydration and I.V. antibiotics to treat his life threatening upper respiratory infection. Yes, my little cherub had a lot stacked against him when he first got here. I thought the extent of his problems were starvation, little did I know this kitten was suffering not only from not being allowed to eat by his breeder but after $1500 in vet bills found out he also had coccidia, ear mites and ringworm. I felt just sick, sick at heart for this helpless baby and like such a fool to trust a stranger.
When I called Shelly to notify her of his condition upon arrival she refused to pick up the phone or return my voicemails, therefore, I emailed her countless times waiting for a response. Something, anything, after all this kitten was apart of her life for 8 1/2 weeks. Absolutely no response whatsoever, so I packaged up all his vet bills which clearly documented his extremely fragile state of health and sent them to the same mailing address that I sent the three thousand dollars (plus shipping) to, still no response.
Four months have gone by since I picked up my sweet little Cotton at the airport. He is continuing to thrive now that he has FOOD and a warm, loving environment. I will not even go into the graphic details of what we went through trying to get rid of the god-awful ear mites and ringworm. What an incredibly expensive nightmare. Shelly decorates her website in absolute lies about her miniature cats, there is nothing miniature about my broken heart or my vet bills.
The vet who treated Cotton said there was no such thing as a miniature Persian and advised me to verify that information with CFA, the most well known cat club in the world. CFA acknowledged there is no such thing as a palm size, pocket sized or any other type of miniature cat and that it is an unscrupulous marketing ploy used by unethical breeders to deceive unsuspecting customers who so badly want to believe there is such a thing as a miniature cat. (myself included) Now that Cotton has proper nutrition in his life he is gaining weight rapidly and up to a healthy 5.8 lbs.
So much for "pocket size cats", huh, Indigo Angels? I am most certain that I am not the only customer who has fallen victim to her cobweb of enormous lies about her miniature Indigo angels. Shelly's website is: www.tcup-persians.com

Normally Indigo Angel would not partake in responding to a post from a FICTITIOUS non-existant client. Unfortunately, ripoffreports will NOT respond to our many emails in which we offer several forms of proof that this post is in fact NOT a client of Indigo Angel, NOR ever has been. It is sad that it takes a competitor to act so maliciously out of greed in an attempt to muddy our reputation we have worked long and hard through integrity and honesty to build. And we feel Americans as a whole have stood up to say we are no longer being taken in by corrupt negative fearful ad campaigns. Do some research on ripoffreports too while you are at it! In building our lines, I was ripped off numerous times and we wanted to build a page on our website of red flags to be aware of for clients looking for a kitten WITHOUT creating enemies or badmouthing other breeders by name. We feel there is plenty of room for everyone in the breeding community and if you are breeder taking the low road - FIX IT & do the right thing rather than playing dirty games and posting lies about your competitors on the internet! Since this is NOT a client of Indigo Angel, we know this ripoffreport is in retaliation for Indigo Angel posting information on our Responsible Breeding page to inform clients of ways to uncover if another breeder is graphically falsely enhancing their eye color. The timing of the post came out within days of us updating our Responsible breeding page. In August, we were contacted by a very upset potential client of another cattery who uncovered that another cattery had been faking brilliant blue eye color for years, this person was versed in graphic design, and we checked out their claims and found them to be true. We did not name the cattery on our website nor in emails because in the breeding world, this cattery is very well known for unscrupulous behavior on many levels and we want no part of dealing with them for THIS very reason - it is not being beneath them to use such dirty business tactics such as this and posting lies across the internet. In fact all we did was implore people to research catteries and put ways clients could see pictures close up on other websites that hide this fraudulent abuse by putting protection on their pictures in the name of "copyright infringement" so the kitten photos can't be enlarged and the graphic enhancement easily seen! In return, we also posted even MORE pictures of our AMAZING INDIGO DARK BLUE eyes that potential clients could scrutinize and see our eyes are the REAL THING! We encourage OUR potential clients to copy our pictures off of our site to enlarge them to verify our eye color is TRUE as long as they don't use our photos in a way that infringes upon our intellectual property, we feel it just gives our clients more confidence that they are getting they pay for when they use their hard earned money to add a fluffy new family member to their household! We find this attack to be unwarranted and the lowest form of human existence and greed....rather than doing the right thing this cattery chose to post horrible lies against us in a DIRECT malicious attack by impersonating being our client! We are diligently working on compiling proof and establishing a criminal and civil case against the fictitious posters...if they continue to post, the more they supply us with proof. We fully intend to prosecute every person who falsely posts maliciously, defamatory lies across the internet and impersonate an Indigo Angel client. The poster of this false post will not just have to answer to the law, but they will have to answer ultimately to God for their behavior. We know every night we can sleep well as we did the right thing, the true thing and took the high road!
In response to these lies, Indigo Angel is UPPING THE BAR and going the EXTRA MILE to post video of our available kittens on our website and YouTube to further verify the health of our kittens and to discredit this unscrupulous act against our reputation. These posts have only made us bring you more, prove ourselves and go to the nines to discredit these lies! You can see your kitten in action from Indigo Angel, and go beyond the photo! Our new motto: Seeing IS Believing. Not only do we back our kittens health, we also back their size with a money back guarantee per our About Us page! Plus provide phone and email support to make your kittens transition smooth! Thus far all this without complaints posted from a REAL client since Indigo Angel registered our cattery with the CFA in 2004! Refer to our About Us page...we NEVER ship our kittens at 8 1/2 weeks old they are much too small to fly at that age! They are generally 16-20 weeks old and if they are REALLY independent we may ship at 12-14 weeks of age, BUT NEVER at 8 1/2 weeks old! If you need additional proof that this post is false, you can contact the Minnesota Board of Animal Health at 651-296-2942. In order to ship a kitten we must secure a Minnesota Certificate of Veterinary Inspection that is filed with the state from our vet who comes to our house and sees our cats and kittens. The airlines will NOT ship without this health certifcate. You will see we have never shipped to a said "Barbara Carson" and have never shipped a cat to the Seattle area either. There are many other aspects of this post that can be discredited also, ask a licensed veterinarian if a severely dehydrated cat would be growling and eating voraciously. Our vet just shook his head when I showed him this fictitious post! All our emails have my FULL name spelled properly in the From area. You will see in BOTH posts on ripoffreports my name is MISSPELLED the same way in both posts AND in BOTH posts if you do the math, the kittens were claimed to be born in February. This fictitious post states the kitten was 8 1/2 weeks at receipt and she claims to have had it for 4 months when posting this in August - that puts said fictitious kitten being born in February. We are in Minnesota and NEVER have kittens born in February, cats just don't go into heat to have kittens in the Northland during the cold dark winter! You can verify that ALSO with the CFA, we, Indigo Angel, have NEVER had a litter born in February EVER by calling them at (732) 528-9797.
