My complaint is against Sara Brull, a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) instructor located in Dallas, TX. The ISR philosophy is to teach children to swim and how to float on their back (until rescued) in the event they fall in water. My 4 yr old son, a beginning swimmer, started lessons with Sara Brull on 7/7/10.

Sara Brull's teaching method is "sink or swim." During his 5th and final lesson, my 4 yr old was trying to swim to the steps and couldn't get there. He went under the water multiple times, flailing with his mouth open and very distressed. Sara Brull stayed at a distance in the pool and allowed him to come up and go under the water multiple times, and at no time was he able to catch a breath.

Sara Brull said my 4 yr old would eventually learn to move his arms and legs in unison by "trial and error." She simulated drowning and hoped my 4 yr old would figure out on his own how to swim. My son has had multiple (drowning) nightmares and contracted a urinary tract infection that required medical treatment, probably due to her dirty pool water.
