Hello: I wanted to relay my experience with a recent trip to Infiniti service in Manhattan, NY. On 9/25/2009, I was getting into my Infiniti G37 Coupe to realize the electrical system has been blown out and nothing in the car works. I drop it off at the Infiniti service in New York, NY to get fixed. First they tell me that it needs a new radio and that is what was blew everything out. So they call me to pick up the car and I ask them is it fixed. They say "No". Why would I want to pick up a car with electrical issues and use it when it is not fixed. Seems like a pretty unsafe answer to me. So I tell them why would I want to pick up the car when it is not fixed so call me when you have fixed the problem. They call me on Monday to tell me it will be ready by 3pm. I call at 3pm to make sure ready since I am not stupid and I am sure they did not fix yet. Surprise!! It is not fixed by 3pm. So I go to pick up the car after they call to tell me it is fixed and when I arrive they attempt to charge me more money than the original estimate they gave me. So when I ask why it is more money and Maria the unhelpful service agent states that this is correct. When I tell them I want to speak with manager he confirms to useless Maria that this bill is incorrect. Here is where the story gets great. I get into the car which based on invoice and service manager states they replaced the Radio. Well what was supposed to be a replaced radio turns into my GPS only tracking in California and will not go to NY. I live in NY so what good in the GPS if it only maps CA? All my settings in the GPS are gone as well. So what was told as a replaced radio must have turned into a complete change of everything in the center console. I would also say they did not even check to make sure everything was working or they too would have noticed that the GPS was not working. I guess that is too much to ask, to check your work before you send a consumer back out in their car. Another unsafe practice. Guess based on that I should be pretty worried about recalls since they seem to not check if work done properly. Seems like liability to me. Here is it 2 days after I pick up the car. I have not driven since original pickup. So I attempt to get into the car and lone behold the car does not open. Surprise!!!! When I attempt to contact them about coming out to get me into my car since they did not fix it correctly, yet again. They say too bad and contact road and tow. Why should I be inconvenienced when they should have tested the car to ensure that things they are fixing are working correctly? In a time when Cars are as valuable as toilet paper and every car company is going out of business, one would think that you would want to satisfy you customer so they return. Based on this experience with this dealer, I would never buy / lease another car from Infiniti again and I feel that in this tough economy you do not want dealerships ruining your brand. If these are the types of dealers you want in your network that is up to you but I just wanted you to understand that this dealerships service center needs fixing. Also, I have tried 3 times prior to this email to get into a new Infiniti at this dealership and I have yet to be called back with the details they agree to get me. Bad service, Bad sales, Bad economy, Infiniti goes the way of GM........Priceless
