These movers scammed us big time. After doing research, we decided on Infinity Moving for our out of state move since they were a couple hundred less than other movers. Big mistake. We had MANY issues with the service, or lack there of, so I will try to keep this short. We were given an estimate of $1800 based on approx 700 cubic feet. On moving day, the movers showed up, loaded all of our belongings onto their truck, and then said the new total was to be $7000. That's right, $7000, close to four times our estimate. Supposedly our items took up well over 700 cubic feet, and was now approx 1800 cubic feet. Our belongings were already on the truck, on the day we had to be out of our apartment, so we had no choice but to pay. We "negotiated" them down to $5000, which they said was "a deal". While waiting a week for our things to show up at our new place out of state (showing up TWO DAYS later than PROMISED), we did some more research and saw multiple BBB complaints against Infinity for bait and switch, contract disputes, loss/damage and hijacking. HIJACKING of customers things if they didn't pay the amount they demanded, which is why we ultimately paid the $5000 because we were scared of never seeing our things again. Multiple items showed up damaged, and many items were MISSING altogether, including our newborn daughters crib that was expensive and brand new. Movers on both sides (pick up and delivery) were both very scary in their demands for tips, bordering on threatening. The items that they took apart were not put back together upon delivery which was supposed to be taken care of according to our contract. We spent hours trying to locate screws to put our furniture pieces back together. When the movers unloaded the truck, we measured the space our move took up, and it was under 700 square feet. Very interesting. So basically when they picked it up and calculated to determine the price, our items were 1800 cubic feet. But upon delivery they were only less than 700 cubic feet? There are many other issues, but fact of the matter is we were robbed. Our items took up less than 700 cubic feet but they flat out LIED and charged us for 1800 cubic feet. Of course they were very attentive when trying to get our business, but have been m.i.a. since we've sent a complaint letter. We have also filed a BBB complaint as well as contact our credit card company to dispute charges.
