Last week (6/21/05), I saw an ad in the Press Enterprise saying 'CUSTOMER SERVICE/WAREHOUSE: We need to fill 10-19 positions! Will train!' with the number to call. I called them and they wanted to set up an interview that morning. I said sure and went straight over there around 11:30am.

When I got there, I noticed they were blaring a System of a Down cd in the waiting area and the chairs you sat in were so low and felt like lawn chairs. I asked the receptionist, Lenay, what the company was all about. She replied, "we do wholesale perfume." I was thinking, "Oh no. I'm going to be like one of those people selling samples out at Arco."

I went into the interview where a guy named DeAnte asked me some interesting questions like, who do I look up to and to describe myself in one word. After the 15 minute interview, DeAnte told me to call back at 4:10pm that day to see if they wanted me to come back for a second interview. I did so and they told me to come back with a notebook the next day. So I did.

There was about 14-15 people there with me and we all sat in this room and we met Chris, the "regional manager." Right away, he told us that we weren't telemarketing, or going door-to-door to sell stuff, and that we weren't really going to be selling stuff at all. He said that we'd be entry-level managers for the 55 new offices that they're opening in the Inland Empire and that we'd be making a minimum of $52,000 a year after taxes. He then added that they just sell business-to-business.

So after the three-hour second interview, he asks us down a list some questions like, if he could pick one person out of the group, why us, etc. After each of us gave our answers, he gave us a time to call back and see if we were selected. That time, I was told to call at 4:16pm. When I called, Lenay told me that I was selected and to come in on Monday at 10:45 with a binder and notepad. Monday was later canceled because Chris was still in Vegas.

Tuesday when I came in, there were 7 of us that were at the second interview that came back. When we went in, he made us watch a video where they talk about the perfume they sell and then asked us questions about it. He made us fill out a phony background check (it looked like it to me) and told us that Karate Kid story and about 'blind faith.' Then he told us to sell as many bottles as we could to win a contest which is supposed to be $750 which I'm sure whoever wins that tomorrow won't get it just like in the other reports I've read today.

Between the office, how it looked (they didn't have any toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom) and the fact that everyone seemed to be from Utah (Chris and two of the people that were higher up were convieniently from Utah, Chris' license plate is a Utah plate when he claims he's been in California for 3 years) alone lead me to believe that this was a little phony. Reading the other reports has confirmed it. Remember everyone, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.

NOW GOES BY SENSATION WHOLESALE

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Thu, July 21, 2005

I was browsing the classifieds today and saw an ad that said 'Bob had a job, Bob lost is job, Do you want Bob's job?' and the phone number listed to call looked familiar so I called it.

The woman who answered said 'Sensation Wholesale' and she said it so fast I couldn't understand her. I had to ask her to repeat what she said twice. The voice was the same one that answered as 'Infinity Wholesale' so I knew it was them.

Just thought I'd pass this info along so perspective employees see this new company name.
