Infomatika Publications Deceptive company, called for address verification, now billing us for directory we did not order. They are scam con artists. Champlain New York

This Company called and asked for an unknown person. The call was put through to me, in personnel.

I informed them we didn't have anyone here by that name, and they asked me my name and if this was Modesto Neighborhood Church and were we located at 3### Tully Road, etc, etc.

I answered yes to their questions, and then they informed me that our directory would be shipped. I immediately, informed them that the person they say ordered the directory did not work here and that I did not have the authority to order a directory and I was not giving them permission to send any directory.

Within a week, we received a bill for $349.95 for a directory. I sent the bill back to them and wrote on the bill that I did not authorize the order and would not pay for a directory if it arrived, neither would I pay to send it back to them. So Do Not Send the Directory.

We have not received the directory, but the bills and phone calls keep coming. My supervisor and I have told them that we did not authorize anything and will not pay for any directory billing.

They called again today and said they had proof that I agreed to everything they said in a taped conversation with their sales rep. They played a tape on the phone for me but the tape was not our original conversation. The tape was cut and everything I told them was cut out.

I asked her where the rest of the conversation was, and she assured me that the tape was not tampered with, that I did agree to everything the Rep said.

I told her I was not going to argue with her, but I did tell whoever I talked to in the beginning, that I was not authorizing anything. When she insisted I did and she had the proof, I hung up on her. I didn't have time to argue with her.

It is really sad that companies are doing business this way. Trying to trick people into being responsible for bills they did not make.
