My husband died Oct. 6, 2009. ING DIRECT sent his yearly statement to the house stating how much money they were holding. I did not know his pass word or any other information that they asked for. However, I did send them a copy of the Death Certificate, and our Marriage Liscense. They still would not give it to me. They told me that I had to go to court to get the money because they do not use Beneficiary Names. I would have to have signed on the account. This is not true because Bank Of America gave me what they had in his accounts. I know they should give me the money because it is not a huge sum of money, and it is too inconvenient for me to go downtown Los Angeles to Superior Court. I am not well, and I could use the money. I was told that they are a Dutch Holding Company, and they do this to people.
