In the spring of 2016 I purchased a 14 pound bag of Arm & Hammer Feline Pine cat litter for $16.99.  The litter advertised a "get your money back rebate" on the label.  After purchasing, I sent in all required rebate information in the alloted timeframe (The deadline was not until Nov. 30, 2016) to the rebate processing center, Inmar Rebates, inmarrebates.com.

After a couple of weeks, I tracked the rebate online at inmarrebates.com, and my status showed that a check had been issued on August 16th, 2016 for $13.89.  I did not receive the check.

In September 2016 I emailed Inmar using the contact information given when tracking down a missing rebate, I recieved no response.

In October 2016 I called Inmar and spoke with a representative.  The representative that I spoke with said that she would cancel the original check and have another check issued. I did not receive it.

In December 2016 I called Inmar again on the 28th of the month and sat on hold for nearly 10 minutes.  No one ever came on the line, and I was cut off.

I received this email from “Cesar” at Inmar/donotreply@armandhammer.com on December 30th:

"Our system shows the payment for this rebate is still outstanding.  We can only issue a stop

payment on a check over the phone to ensure no bank fees are incurred by the consumer.  We are

not allowed to complete this process via email communication.

Please call our office at 877-322-8355-VDN # 8355, M-F, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, EST.  Please press

option 1 to speak to an agent.  When calling, please reference your submission number.  Thank you

for your cooperation on this matter. "

I called once more on January 13, 2017 and spoke with a representative named Leo who assured me that they would cancel the original check and issue another rebate check (again.)  As of today, February 22nd, 2017, I have not received it.

When I check my rebate status online at inmarrebates.com, the original information is there - that I have submitted the information correctly, and that a check was issued on 8/16/16.  The tracking information also shows that the check has not cleared.

I believe that this rebate is somehow a scam - does Arm & Hammer pay them for the rebates, and then they do not issue the rebates to the consumer?  I am trying to figure out how Inmar is making money from this scam.  I am seriously disappointed.

On top of that, my cat would not use the litter, so I am out the $16.99 plus tax, and never used the litter, which would have been no big deal, as it wasn't a risk considering the company was offering a rebate, making this bag of litter (almost) free to try.  I will not purchase it again.
