Inmate Communications Corporation billed for two collect calls that I did not accept which were recorded by my answering machine ripoff Van Nuys California
On Labor Day 2003 a friend called collect from a jail 40 miles away. No one was in the home where the phone is located and the call was recorded by my answering machine.
My next SBC phone bill showed a charge for two one minute calls billed by Inmate Communication Corp., and included with my regular phone bill. $8.60 for each one minute call.
SBC (formerly Pacific Bell) says that collect calls cannot be accepted by phone answering machines, but since it is on my bill,..I must have accepted them! I Did Not!
A call to Inmate Comm. Corp. yielded nothing but THIER answering machine and a promise of a return call within 3 days. It is a week later now and I have yet to hear form Inmate Comm. Corp.
