Innovative Kitchen and Bath Did not refund my deposit when I canceled their contract Kirkland WA

In September 2019, I hired Innovative Kitchen and Bath of Kirkland, WA to do a kitchen remodel project and paid them a deposit of $4,832.18 for the work, which was to occur in April of this year. The purpose was to get the kitchen ready so we could sell the house. 

  We then found a house that we liked earlier than we had planned, and I called on January 21, 2020 to let them know of this fact, cancel the contract and request reimbursement of our deposit per the contract terms.    Multiple phone calls, plus emails over the course of the last few weeks, have not resulted in my reimbursement being received. Every person I talk with has a different excuse. There is no reason a simple reimbursement should take this long.

Update on this situation: Happy to report that Innovative and I reached an amicable agreement. It's easy to handle things well when everything goes right; it really shows character when people work to resolve things that didn't go right, and they did in this case.
