Complaint Review: Inphonic

Inphonic Charged me $500 for closing an duplicate account they created, when i already had an account in Cingular Internet

I purchased 2 cellphone on wirefly.com around May 2006 when they were offering a good deal for *existing* cingular customers. I specifically noted the fact that this offer was for existing cingular customers. The deal required me to remain with cingular for some specific period of time.

Then suddenly in early 2007 i get an email from inphonic saying that i owe them $500 for closing the cingular account!! I was shocked as i am still a cingular member and was clueless as to why i am being charged.

Then i found out that wirefly(part of inphonic) had created a NEW account in cingular when i bought the phones without my knowledge. Then later they closed the account and are now charging me for that. They should have not created a new account as i was already a cingular customer and i even transferred my existing phone# to the new phones.

The deal specifically mentioned that EXISTING cingular customers can apply for this deal.
