InPhonic - Cingular Wireless ripoff denied $100 rebate based on inaccurate data White Bear Lake Minnesota
I purchased online, a Motorola V551 phone Dec. 7, 2004 for $150.00, with the condition of a $100 rebate to be paid to me after 6 months continuous service. Because of a mistake made by Cingular Wireless, the phone had to be shipped to me with a new phone number, not my old cell number. After I received the phone, I called and was able to have the number changed to my old cell number. When I made this change, I specified that I didn't want this change to create a problem getting my rebate and I was assured this would not be the case.
When I applied for the rebate, I sent all required information but eventually, after several months and numerous inquiries, I was told the claim was denied because I discontinued service. I have repeated, REPEATEDLY, called and explained that I still have the same service on the same phone. I have also written letters to explain the situation as well as email communication. Cingular did made a mistake and opened a second account when they gave me the new number, but that was clarified.
It has been a over 14 months since I purchase this phone, and I am still trying to get my rebate. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated!
