I purchased a Motorola E815 with a 24 month Verizon service agreement on October 5, 2005 from MSN Mobile via the internet. The offer that I responded to included two rebates totaling $200 from InPhonic, Inc. Upon receiving the phone I became aware of the details and stipulations involved with filing for the rebates. In any event, I saved all the required documents, marked my calender, and upon receipt of the required service bill, I submitted my rebates properly using certified US mail.

During later May of 2006, receipt of my documents was verified on rebatestatus.com. I was instructed to continue to check for updates on their status.

June 6, 2006: I received a reply from customer.service@cs.rebates.com, to my email inquiry requesting an explanation for the delay. I was informed they were being reviewed for accuracy.

June 14, 2006: I received a reply from Floyd G 9698 [mailto:customer.service@cs.rebatestatus.com. The reply stated that "a valid rebate is currently being processed. "A cheque will be issued and mailed to you upon completion of processing."
"Your rebate was entered sucessfully on 06/13/2006. Please allow 10-12 weeks for processing."

June 15, 2006: I received a reply from Maribel C 9797 [mailto:customer.service@cs.rebatestatus.com stating my rebate had been approved and "is currently being processed. A check will be mailed to you upon completion of processing."
(Because Maribel's email only cited one (1) rebate, I inquired again.

June 15, 2006: I received a reply from Lindsay R 9093 [mailto:customer.service@cs.rebatestatus.com] "Your rebates were approved on 6/13/2006. Please allow 10-12 weeks from this submission approval date to receive your rebate checks in the mail, as they have just come back from the verification department to start processing."

July 24, 2006: I received the following from Hollie Kapos {hkapos@inphonic.com]

Mr. xxxxxxx

I received a copy of your email to Lindsay dated July 10, 2006, regarding a rebate with your Verizon Wireless purchase.

Due to a change in third party rebate processing vendors, your submission is currently going though reprocessing. However, I will override the processing of your submission and have a check issued from InPhonic's Corporate office. Please allow 7-10 business days to receive your check in the amount of $200.00 made out to:

xxxx xxxxxx
xxxxxx xxxxx Dr.
xxxxxx, TX xxxxx

If this is not the correct address, or if you do not receive your check within 7-10 days, please email me or call the number below.

Best regards,

It has now been over 10 months since my original purchase, over 3 months since I submitted the properly formatted rebate request, and 20 days since I received the email from Hollie Kapos. Still no rebate check.

This company is something else! I don't know how they look themselves in the mirror each day?

August 15, 2006: 46 weeks after my purchase, and 16 weeks after submitting my properly formated rebate requests by certified mail, I now can say that I have received my full rebate. I am somewhat unsure if it would have ever happened had Hollie Kapos in the corporated office not gotten involved.

To her, I say thank you. Do I think that it ever ever should have taken as long as it did? NO WAY..... Consumers should not have to go through that kind of frustration and anxiety after buying a product and signing a service agreement. It will be interesting to see if a company that operates in such a reckless way can survive.

Good luck to all in the quest for YOUR money....
