Last August (2005) we ordered 2 cellphones with the promise of a rebate totaling $500.00. We had to wait 6 months to submit the rebate which we did in a timely manner. I even sent this info via registered mail.

After no ackowledgement I e-mailed them and received a reply that the submissions were complete and we would receive a check for $500.00 in 8-10 weeks. That was 5 months ago and they no longer reply to my e-mails. Of course every number you call is either disconnected or you are given another number to call.

To make matters worse, the one phone died last night so I am now out $500.00 and no phone.

CHECK HAS CLEARED---LESSON LEARNED

After several weeks I am now confident that the check I rec'd did clear. It was a long road, but I prevailed. I just want to say, don't ever purchase anything with a large rebate and NEVER from InPhonics. I'd like to think that my 6 a.m. phone call to Jay Hoag, a major stockholder, was what finally did the trick.

F.Y.I.--his # is (605) 473-1090 and he is located in CA.

8/23/06 I FINALLY GOT MY REBATE!!!

I GOT MY CHECK! I finally got my long awaited check today sent overnight by Fed Ex. I have to say that if you are being ripped off by InPhonic you MUST use every means to get them to pay.

I filed a report here on this website, I contacted the BBB of Washington DC and filed a complaint with the Atty. General's office. I also e mailed every name I could find who has something to do with InPhonic. I also called a major shareholder at InPhonic(Jay Hoag @605 473-1090) and since it was 9:00AM here in PA, it was 6:00AM his time.

I'm not sure which method worked but as long as the check doesn't bounce, I really don't care. Also, I did have contact with someone by the name of Fatou at InPhonic and she did seem like she wanted to be helpful. Her # is (888)843-2558. I certainly learned a valuable lesson here--if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! GOOD LUCK

Bob

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE-INPHONIC PROMISES

I thought it was too good to be true. I am still waiting for my check for $500.00 after I was told by Fatou from InPhonic that it was being sent within 72 hours. By the way, her # is 888 843-2558. I also called someone listed on another complaint as a major stockholder by the name of Jay Hoag and he said I got him out of bed as it was 6:00 AM in his world. I pressed him about the rebate and he hung up on me. Maybe if we all call him at 605 473-1090 he will be more cooperative.

I knew it was too good to be true. After receiving a call a week ago, I still got no check. Again, I placed a call and was told to call back in a week. I guess my next step is the Atty. General Office
