As a college graduate out of TESST College of Technology, I have been diligently looking for work as a PC Technician for a few months now, it is at the point I need a bit of a lead in my help of finding something.  So of course, Insight Global is one of the many Staffing Agencies listed on Career Builder/Monster/Dice etc.  So I did a quick application and sent them my resume since they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

WHY!?!?!?

I get a phone call during the week from Casey Holt, and after about a 5 minute conversation I schedule an interview for a position that she may have found me.  I drive down into Pratt street knowing that the cost of parking is going to be ridiculous, so I decided to park in Federal Hill in a parking lot that, not too many people know about which was free of charge, but the trade off was the fact I had to walk at least 2 miles to get to IG's building.  I finally get there, fresh suited, and right on time...NO receptionist, just a bell and a laminated piece of paper that tells me to ring the bell if no one is at the desk.  I ring it and right away someone comes out and tells me that Casey won't be meeting with me for whatever reason, he didn't say, he just said she has left for the day.  I understand it was on a Friday, but her and I scheduled an interview which in my opinion was a commitment but I guess through her eyes, she either forgot or just didn't care.  So the person who helped me had me sit in a small conference room and gave me a glass of water.  To be honest, all was fair, until the person Casey bumped me off to.  Her name was Pamella Palmer, she comes in, dressed professionally, business attire, but the thing that threw me off was not only the fact that she immediately told me that the position Casey had me was filled, but she pursued to fast talk me into other positions down the road.  Which I didn't decline because at this point, I would take anything as long as it provides more experience in the I.T. field.  Well after a brief interview that was less than 5 minutes long she gave me her card and asked me to send her an updated resume and 3 managerial references, we shook hands and right when I was about to leave there was a receptionist sitting at the desk...GHETTO AS ALL HELL! Regardless whether he was an actual receptionist or employee there or not, he would still need to be brought in the back or somewhere out of customer view because the way he was dressed simply stated BAD FOR BUSINESS.

So I walked back to my car, optimistic as I could be, even though I felt a shady shift crossing me.  I then didn't hear from Pamella or Casey for 2 weeks.  I then send a follow up email to Pamella since I was under the impression she was the one handling my claims now and Casey either quit or just didn't want to do her job...Either or, these people only get paid 14 dollars an hour to go on these employment websites and act like an employer, which all they are is a SCAM because they get a percentage of what you make, which makes me understand why these companies are so RICH in the first place...  So after I sent Pam the follow up email, almost immediately she gave me a phone call, she then, sounded very shaky, said that she was just about to send me an email regarding a position that she feels I was a fit for.  So I then told her, "okay", and she proceeded to ask me about my experience and things that are all on my resume, as if she never read it at all.  I then asked myself, "what was that interview even for?" So I asked her to send me an email regarding the position, and she never sent me a single thing from then on, which the phone conversation was on a Friday and a couple hours before 5 so I could understand if she didn't get around to it, so I send another follow up email just simply asking her to get back to me with anything...NOTHING!!! So I sent her a bottom liner which simply stated,

"that I am not desperate but I am at the point of being VERY DISCOURAGED and if I don't receive a follow up email from you than this will be the last time you hear from me"...STILL NOTHING!!!

Now today is Monday 11/19, after going through about a month with these people, have not even attempted to try and schedule me for an interview with any employer.  So after that I wrote this letter and here I am posting this on here.

These companies are lazy and do nothing but discourage people who are simply trying to make a living for their families and getting their lives back on track.  Sometimes you just need to ask yourself if you are better than the average sucker who would buy into a temp agency knowing full well NOTHING IS FREE but are desperate just to make ends meet.  These companies take advantage of that, it's what they feed off of.

Warm Regards to the ones who took the time and read this, and I hope you search smart and not too hard in finding your next employer.
