Instagram Locked Out of Account, No Reset Code Ever Sent

I inadvertently tried to login to my Instagram account with an old password twice. Instagram notified me I was "temporarily" locked out due to suspicious activity and asked me to request a reset code be sent to my e-mail. I have requested probably over 100 times by now since this has been going on for weeks. No code is ever sent. "Temporarily" has turned in to weeks of no access. Instagrams Twitter page has many posts indicating the same problem. A Google search turns up many posts about this issue going back to at least 2017. It is a known issue to Instagram, but so far they refuse to fix it.

I have tweeted to them myself many times. No reply. I posted in a comment on one of their Facebook posts since they don't have messaging turned on and don't allow visitor posts. They replied one time with a link to . . . you guessed it! The same request to send a code to reset the password! Of course it didn't work. I replied after trying it again, and no response.

Since Facebook owns Instagram now, Instagram apparently follows Facebook's tech support model which is none. Buyer beware. Once you get locked out of your account, you will not regain access ever.
