Instahang Credit Card Fraud, Unethical, Scam, Rip-off Wallingford, Connecticut
I contacted Instahang by phone to order two picture hangers at $15.90 each. At the end of the order the automated system asked if I wanted to order furniture movers/lifters; I replied no.
Approximately a week later a representative contact me to confirm my order. The rep confirmed that I ordered two picture hangers and no the furniture movers/lifters.
Upon receiving a large box from Instahang, I opened it and in it were the two picture hangers with 16 furniture movers/lifters. Amount invoiced was $161.54.
On 03/21 I called instahang and spoke with someone named Sue, Operator #251. Sue informed me that their system was very sensitive and "any noise at all could be construed as a yes for ordering the movers." Apparently that also means that a "no" can be construed as a "yes." Sue was very rude and did not want to hear a thing about this situation. I asked to speak with her supervisor. After holding for approximately four minutes, Sue got back on and said that I had to hold to speak with corporate. I replied OK, and Sue then hung up on me.
In this situation the consumer is responsible for paying shipping and handling on the un-ordered product, and hoping that their credit card is refunded the purchase price of $79.96.
Seems like fraud to me!
