I have a charge of 15.70 on my Centurytel bill that I have no clue about. The 1-800-736-7500 number says either all circuits are busy or no long distance services can be reached at this time. I am being charged on behalf of Total 1 Protect, LLC. I have no idea who they are either. There is no called from number and 0 minutes used but a charge of 14.95 and .75 taxes.

I hope I can shed some light on the matter, seeing as I work for CenturyTel. First of all, your beef is with Integretel, a rather unscrupulous company that charges various things to telephone bills. They range from "long distance" calls to voice mail charges, etc. They are notorious for charging for access to various websites, and also for charging for internet that customers don't have or use. By the sound of the charge, it sounds like you were somehow charged the latter (for internet service).
Now, there are a couple of ways you can straighten this out. First of all, was this the first time it appeared on your bill? Have you ever had anything else "weird" show up there? If so, please have the dates and bills available for the next steps. You can call Centurytel's customer service and advise verbatim "I need to place a charge in dispute". At that point, our investigative team will charge the fee back to the company. Usually, once the dispute is placed it is automatically credited because we get so much fraud from Integretel it is ridiculous. However, be advised that because one charge is in dispute it does not mean that it may not appear again. By law, if another company presents a charge to your local phone provider we are obligated to respond by placing the charge on your bill. We can take it from there though. You may want to also contact the Louisiana Public Service commission; the more complaints against Integretel the better- they are a billing company for "service providers" that are nothing but con-artists.
This is what to do in a nutshell. I hope this helps-
