My local phone bill came recently with an additional section of charges from Integretel - totalling $88.93. These charges were supposedly for using a calling card - despite using my own SBC calling card and utilizing SBC access numbers. SBC has, after acknowledging awareness of the company and its practices, offered to remove the fraudulent charges from my bill.

However that does not prevent the company from sending the bill to collections. I was outraged, I felt tsken advantage of, humiliated, ripped off. After reading postings from others regarding this company, I felt justified in my anger, and empowered by knowing other consumers had been targeted and fought back. I even found a posting from a former employee of Integretel, and I feel cempelled to share it again.

"I have worked for Integretel, a 3rd party billing service, and when I first started, I really believed that these charges were accurate and now looking back I realize that I was wrong. These are fraudulent charges having experiencing them myself. I feel bad that I had to lie to these customers in order to make a buck. Even though people have disputed the charges they see on there phone, faq900.com, 900faq.com and integretel are multi million dollar companys. As soon as someone calls that telephone number on there phone bill integretel gets paid even though it is an 800 number. Do not be fooled on what you may see on your phonebill. Please treat the people you speak with on the phone with respect, after they explain all they want you to say is "I want to dispute these charges" and they will gladly do so for you, Call the better business bureau or FCC if you feel you need to."
