Two clean cut "University of Houston" men going door-to door selling children's books and CD's, miscellanous books, AND Christian books "just in time for Christmas in order to raise money for their trip to Europe.

One even stated that his mom told him he couldn't solicite people without offering a return favor like washing your car, cleaning out your garage, washing windows, taking trash to the dump, etc. He offered to wash the car several times (we drive an Escalade and a Navigator). I even had them sit in my living room while I picked out books and CD's for my children for Christmas.

I never read the small subdivision newspaper that comes to my door, but today I did, and read the story of a lady riped off by these same guys on the same day I was (I checked the date on the 2 checks I wrote to each young man...same date November 21, 2007).

My husband is very muscular and strong. He answered the door. This did not detour these two, even when I invited them in. They seemed real "honest" and cool.

I tried to report this incident to the number in the paper, but they are a "private" police department for the part of town of the woman who's report I read. I have called the police department that is affiliated with my part of town, and they are checking into it.
