Complaint Review: Integrity Sales

A young looking man came to my door claiming to to be my neighbor. He said his mother lives up the street and that his Dad passed away a year ago. He said that his Mother walks the dogs passed our house, etc. He claimed to be raising money for a school trip to London. He also said that he would come do chores for folks who purchased books or magazines from him.

I didn't purchase the magazine subscriptions or books that he was selling because they were too expensive, so I agreed to help him out with a donation.

He said that I could contribute to half a magazine subscription to the troops in Iraq ($24) and that he would return a tax deductible receipt on his way back up the street.

Since I really just wanted him out of my place at that point I agreed, but after I had written a check to Integrity Sales, LLC I felt like the whole thing was fishy, so I checked online and found that his story is very familar and that this is a complete scam. His picture is on the website as a sales agent.

In San Diego you need to have a solicitor's license if you are going door to door to sell things. Strict as it may sound, follow the advice from the Police and do not answer your door for anyone that you do not know and not to give any door to door donations. Lesson learned!
