2 teenagers, who falsified their identities, addresses, and contact persons, approached us late on Saturday evening, of 21 July07 to solicit money for an apparent good cause: purchasing books for children at Johns Hopkins Hospital. They failed to show any ID representing their company and marketed themselves as students at the University Maryland soccer team soliciting goal points for their team in order to be able to travel to Italy with their team. The young man identified himself as Joel Nelson.

After paying for the books, I investigated the story which was an outright lie. They were NOT students at the University of Maryland. The 2 teenagers who claimed to have lived close to my home gave me bogus addresses, zip code, area codes and telephone numbers of their local residences. They were obviously not from our area. After examining the receipt closely I realized that they had forged my husband's signature and put a bogus address for Johns Hopkins Hospital to which the books were to be sent. It was clear that these books were never meant for their destination.

We were told that that since we were over 55years old we would qualify for senior citizen rebate for the books which would be sent to us in 30 days. They never wrote down the address to which this was to be sent. I reported this incident to the police the next day and was told that this fell into to arena of false advertising and should be reported to the FTC. On Monday, I stopped payment with my bank. The $33 dollars I had to pay for the service was a small price to pay, considering I paid $190 for books that would never reach their destination.

DEAR CONCERNED MOM AND RIPPED OFF GRANDMA...

#6UPDATE EX-employee responds

I am also an ex employee, and andreas roomate. to the MOM.... I too agree that we should turn them in for tax evasion. I got my 1099 forms from the company, and they stated that i made over 10.000 last year. Well i sure didnt see any of that. And I looked up the defenition of INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, and we did not provide our own materials, or get to choose our hours or where we worked, therefor we were treated as employees. The reason that the company claims us as independent contractors is so that they dont have to pay taxes for EMPLOYEES... The owner of the whole company, including the clearing house that they use for the magazines, name is Robert Spruiell. I have all the info and even his address and the address of the corporate office. This company if a fradulent one and I even know Brendas nephew, whom she often treated worse than the rest of the agents. If there is enough of us reporting to the IRS maybe theyll do something. Let me know okay?

If you look on the Integrity Sales web site, look for "Brenda". Her full name is Brenda Harmon. The info I have on her is she was staying in the Days Inn in Alberdeen, but was thrown out of the hotel, and is now an hour away in Jessup, Maryland, at the Knights Inn Hotel.

Now mind you, once the word is out that their is a complaint, or someone is on to them, they just pick up and move.

You are correct, everything they tell you to make a sale is a lie. I have heard all sorts of lies that made my toes curl. How can one with a conscience use our soldiers, or children with cancer as a sales tool?

These young adults that are going to door are living on barely anything, are starving, and are very much TOLD what lies to use by their trainers.

For a rule of thumb for myself, because yes, they have been all over my neighborhood for a few years now...is NEVER answer the door. Ignore them.

I never trust a door to door salesman no matter what they are selling, nor would I ever open my door for one.
