Complaint Review: Intelius

Ordered a report from these scam artists on August 14,2007. After entering all of the information of the individual of whom I was researching (including name, address, and date of birth), I ended up receiving from Intelius a report consisting of approximately 80 pages of absolutely USELESS information. This report included several pages of individuals with the same name as the person I was researching, but all had different address' and dates of birth then what I had entered in the search request. Then, when I finally happened upon the person that I WAS researching, I was only provided with an address and property search report that was about 6 years old. When I clinked into check any of the other sub-catagories of reports that I was to receive, Intelious advised that if I actually wanted them, I would need to submit MORE money.

Once I realized that I had been ripped-off, I immediately attempted to call their customer service (which by the way, was NOT toll-free) only to be sidetracked and shuffled around by an automated system. So, after much aggravation and a lot of my time wasted, I e-mailed them. In fact, I e-mailed them 3 times! None of which had ever been responsed to.

PLEASE>>BE WARNED>>>DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY KIND OF BACK ROUND SEARCHS!! I made it a point to file a formal complaint with the federal trade commission as well as the Attorney General of my State. I can kick myself for not checking with rip-off reports before dealing with this company!
