My mother and I went to do a little research on my father who has not paid child support in over 14 years, and we wanted some information on him. We decided to use Intelius to find him. It was only 2.95 just to get his phone number, salary, location and home value. However, I can recall that this information was obsolete, and he lives somewhere else. I had done this on Friday June 6th, 2008. On Monday the 9th, I check my emails and I found this e-mail from PMI. Basically it says I have "accepted" an offer to check the safety of my identity report.

I have one nice tidbit of info to give to anyone reading this: check the site reputation on Google before you use the site and check for any other sites mentioned in the [first site's] terms of service and privacy policy.

I contacted PMI yesterday to get this "membership" cancelled. All I did was call them, they had an automatic voice operator tell me what I wanted to do, just enter my ID given in the email and then my zip code.

Also, there is no cancel account option on Intelius' website. I tried to delete my account info but it did not work; it gave me 'invalid code' and 'code needed' messages.
