Intellical Operator Services Highway Robbery at the Dallas Airport Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
I had the displeasure of getting to know Intellicall Operator Services after my credit card was charged $70 for four brief phone calls from the Dallas/Ft Worth airport to Oregon and Washington.
Each of the calls would've cost about $1.00 if I'd just used coins to make the call, but I did not imagine there could have been such a horrible discrepancy in charges.
I called IOS to complain and was told that not only was what they did legal and sanctioned by the FCC, they had actually cut me quite a deal by only charging $70. Why, if I'd used AT&T, they said, I would've been charged much more.
How can this possibly be legal? There were no signs on the telephone itself or information given once I began to make the calls that such exorbitant charges would apply. It is nothing less than a travesty that such business practices would be allowed by our government, and I can only hope to find some way to recoup a bit of my money and hopefully get some attention from those who have the power to change this ridiculous and predatory practice.
