I signed fiscal sponsor agreement with Interlock Media. After friends and family generously gave I attempted to contact the office several times to make expenses for the project Interlock sponsored. Their book keeper called me back once and asked me how much I thought was in the account. I did not know because that is their job and they agreed to keep track of all donations. Since then, I have not received any response to my emails and phone calls. Now mind you, this is a non-profit organization that prides themselves on creating documentary film such as modern day slavery and the like. This organization is purposely holding and possibly using donated funds for other project they agreed to sponsor. Thus stealing and deceiving those who donated to another cause/project. If you are considering funding Interlock Media beware.

Interlock has been involved (as a sponsor and as a producer) with a number of successful projects related to world slavery and human trafficking issues. The project referenced here, which covered bonded slavery in Nepal, was unfortunately not completed.

Despite what seemed like adequate seed money from donors and good logistical support from Interlock, the gentleman at issue here failed to complete his documentary project and asked us to return the remainder of the funds he had raised. Despite the claim that he tried repeatedly to reach us, communications from him during this period were intermittent at best.

It was an unusual situation and a first for us. We did comply readily with his request once the parameters were clear. We refunded the donors within a period of time that was reasonable by industry standards. As is always the case with nonprofits, Interlocks full financial data are public record and available upon request. We welcome all inquiries and new candidates for fiscal sponsorship.
