I purchased an Intermatic Timer in June of 2015.  When I had it installed the installer told be I had a bad timer on one of the two timers in the unit.  I contaceted Intermatic and they replaced the timer immediaetly.  Turns out that he got the timer to work and I put the timer they sent me away for future use.

 In September 2016 one of the timers went out and since I had a new one in the box that had never been opend I installedit in the timer housing.  Well, the clock on ther timer didn't work so I called Intermatic and told them I replaced the broken timer with the one that they sent me back in 2016.

They told me since the timer was over a year old that it was out of warranty even being that it was a faulty timer.  Even though I explained that it was new and the box they sent it to me in was never opened.  They proceeded to explain that the warranty starts when the item is purchase or shipped not when it's installed.

Therefore I have no recourse with Intermatic even thought the part came directly from them.  Timers are not inexpensive and the least they could have done was sent me another one.
