International Candle - Ryan Wallace - Norwood Group work at home ripoff Heartless, cruel, no integrity. They took my life savings and I never heard from them again. Cambridge, Massachusetts
I was contacted by phone, and swept off my feet by the courteous and professional manner of the caller. He described a business oportunity that sounded like it would be perfect for me. I looked the International Candle corp. up on the web. There web site was quite nice and everything looked in order.
So I contacted Ryan Wallace at I.C.C. and he described how the distributorship worked. The information he gave me sounded reasonable. He then sent me a nice booklet describing the "business opportunity" that he was offering.
After studying the information I decided to "take advantage" (ha,ha) of the "opportunity" (ha,ha), and sent I.C.C. a check.
I'm an umemployed machinist of 57 and borrowed the money from my 82 year old mother. I was just looking for some way to make a living, and not have to sponge off relatives and friends. I sent the check the first part of January. Needless to say, I never heard from them again. I've called many times and NEVER had anyone call me back.
I did however recieve a shipment of candles a few days ago. They were very poorly crated and had no exterior protection. The cellophane the boxes were wrapped in had failed and many of the candles were damaged. I recieved no display racks, And, as usual when I called, I recieved no reply. The candles appear to be very poor quality. They sent me only the cheapest candles in there catalog. I can buy many similar candles at Dollar Tree for $1. And even better candles at my local grocery store for less than I.C.C.s wholesale price.
It's been 6 weeks since I sent them my check. I've also spent a lot of money in preparation to start my business. I bout a business license, software to generate invoices and lables. And I sent there "recommended" locator service, The Norwood Group, a quite large check. And, just today I spent $100.00 to purchase a price labeling gun. I wish that I had seen this notice yesterday (d**n). It looks like I'll have to swallow well over $10,000.00. I have no idea what I will tell my mother tomorrow. Ive, literally, thrown her life savings away. I ought to be shot.
Sincerely,
Dave
