In July, 2008-I entered my poem in email contest. Email withheld for report compliance. THEY accepted poem via email notification and sent me order form, etc. to offer ship/handling + extra for BIO PAGE as well as published leather book. Cost $83.95. Snail mailed money order with relevant everything " to be sent QUICKLY ". I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED AFTER HOURS OF ORIGINALLY REACHING ( & HOLDING ) by telephone. Hours of pursuance!! Far & few between contacts via telephone finally got reimbursed $25.00 for BIO PAGE, which somehow got lost though it authorized authenticity of my poem, from the original order form.

Moving forward to 2009. Received a poetry book in January, without my published poem. I have mailed two letters to the NEW COMPANY called " International Society of Poets " to please either send my PUBLISHED POEM or send the $58.95 REFUND!!! I hold every form of document from both Companies, same address, two different Contacts: 1st Howard Ely 2nd Steve Michaels. This Company turned an awesome inspiration into a horrible reality for me, I am angry. Poem was my first attempt during a tough financial time in my life. I need help. All letters are MOOT, Emails are UNdeliverable, phone gets voice prompt " all circuits busy " has anyone else experienced?

This message hopes to reach " Anonymous " in Irvine. Thank you for sharing your story which is not in front of me right now.  The jist of your acclaim was that you are published through " International.... ", and searching for the Volume that displays your poem.  I hope you find it, truth be told.  Also may I add that I was sorry to hear of your storage loss.. in essence, your loss of thievery against you and storage was possibly much more than my $84.00.  I enjoyed reading what Vanity back in 2009 had to say, it hit home that self indulgence, no matter what the circumstances - may be my culprit here.  It was exciting to have my poem " get accepted " in the first place.  A Lady I know had entered her poetry years earlier with that original company, was legally published- whereas she was sent that Volume.  So when I sent the money ( money order ), it all appeared legit.  Yet...  I did not have that money to spare at all.  Though duped, time has past.  I ended up giving that volume sent to me without my poem in it, to someone who likes Poetry.  In this case, I had to drop it and let go.  I appreciated your kindness, perhaps you can share the Volume title that contains your Poem, so more folks might be able to help you?

Actually, I wrote a poem in the late 90s and have been trying to find a copy of the volume containing it.  It was an off-the-cuff poem with a hope that it would appear printed.  I never believed it would be printed but received a letter of acceptance, after submitting it with (my recollection) $50 fee.  Several months later, I received a beautiful book, gorgeously bound, with MY poem in it!  Unfortunately, my entire life was stolen from a mini-warehouse, including my book.  Now I am trying to find a copy of the book or even the poem and cannot.  I am so sorry for your loss and it is unfortunate that this sort of thing happens.  My poem was not beautiful, not even remotely hopeful; in fact, I wrote it under the pseudo-name of Dennis Ruiz ... I am a woman.  Because I thought at the time that I FINALLY got published, I've not given much thought to it since, but I would really like to get a volume of the book.  One may question if everybody who submits a poem gets published and I can emphatically say that (at least for the year I submitted), they do NOT.  My friend also submitted a poem and it was not accepted.  One last thing, I did not actually send the money in with the poem; I sent the money AFTER the poem had been accepted, and my recollection is that it was for the BOOK, not for entry.  The book was so beautifully done that I did not consider it a loss.  Again, I am sorry for the loss of money.  Nobody ever asked for a bio on me, as I believe that the poetry should stand on its own.  Just because you are previously-published or have a college degree does not make you "authorized" to have a heart with the passion to write beautiful poetry.  Frankly, I do not especially like poetry; I am trying to publish a nove, and I only wrote the poem to try to get published somewhere.  Good luck and I would not let off until I got my money back.

Peple should know better once they are asked to to pay for an award. These people bank on the pathetic neediness of people to be recognized. I submitted a poem, but I have won a cash award for my poetry before. Not from the ILOP, but from the Pittsburgh Job Corps Center back in 1998.

The faculty was responsible for judging the entires. And, this faculty consisted of professionals, and college teachers, and such. Out of the many submitted mine was selected, and I received a cash award.

So years passed, and in 2006 these scum send me a form postcard asking for poetry submissions. So I think to myself it says in the Bible in the one Parable, "He who has more is given, but he that has not he will lose what he has'".

So, I decided to at least double my poetry talent. And this I did. They said I was the editors choice, and that my poem will be published in the Immortal Verses book.

They didn't know how right they were.

But, I paid to have my work copyright registered, by the US Copyright Office BEFORE I sent it to them.

I accomplished my goal as far as increasing my talent, SO THE JOKE WAS ON THEM!! Surely the wrath of GOD will fall on them.

Then they asked me to pat for the book, and award, and I was like "No thanks", I am not about to pay for something I supposedy am being honored for. Even in the Superbowl they do not ask the Millionaire players to chip in for the cost of the Vince Lombardi trophy.

I laughed, but thought it isnt really that pathetic to ask to be compensated for the volume. It seemed fair, but I was just not interested. It was enough to contribute and see my worthwhile efforts rewarded with publishment.

So time passed, and I checked in to their site to see what was to become of the "Immortal Verses" anthology. It appeared as though they CHANGED the Immortal Verses single volume to an Immortal Verses SERIES.

The move seemed a bit peculiar, and then it HIT ME. This was a move made to SPITE ME PERSONALLY. I then understood that the work I sent them was so powerful that "someone" would NOT permit it to be glorified in a single volume by that title.

Then I heard other complaints of the book NOT BEING RELEASED AT ALL!!!!! And others LOSING THIER MONEY!!!!! This was an unprecedented move.....even for the "International Library of Poetry" unique only to the "Immortal Verses Title.

They always made good on thier guarantees to publish in the past, so this move set off ALARMS.

It then became clear that I was dealing with DEVILS!!!!!! And, an entire INDUSTRY posessed of DEMONS moved by SATAN to afflict men.

Go to the website, they actually post my poem there it is titled "ONLY ONE", when you read it and its contents concerning the anti-christ you will se why they REFUSED to publish the volume for printing.

I am so glad I did not give then one penny. They play satans frustration game. With the ultimate goal of filling hell with more souls. In an attempt to incense a person to the point he/she will make the trip to Owings Mills....AND START BLASTING!!!!!!

Uh Uh not me. I know how the devil works. The LORD rebuke him, and the ILOP.
