I am taking the time to write this because I too was almost taken by this e-mail. I really thought I too had won the Lottery. Then my common sense and skeptisim kicked in. I noticed 4 things: There was no website to reference, just personal email adresses; My name didnt appear anywhere in the email; they said that I won in January of 2005 (they notify me in Dec?); and last they asked for my bank account number.

Most legitimate lotteries give out checks and dont deposit money to accounts. Everytime you see someone win your local lottery or for example Publisher Cearinng House, they have a big huge check presented to them for show, i guess thisis suppose to be for promotional reasons. They dont say "such and such won a million dollars and we deposited it into their bank account". They have that check that shows they won the million dollars and the check is bigger than the person. That's what I see all the time anyway.....Once you get the real check you yourself can deposit the money.

In the email it says I was assigned a claims manager. You'll never guess the name: REV. DR. Roland Otus, just because the titles reverand and doctor are in front of the name I am supose to trust them. Why would a reverand or a doctor be working as a claim manager for a lottery company anyway?

The email also begs you not to tell anyone for confidentiality purposes. They just dont want you to go to the COPS.

They put a creditable name in the email like Bill Gates to make it sound authentic and as if they endorse the company. I think if Bill Gates knew these jerks were using his name to rip people off he wouldn't be too happy.

I want to say thanks to ripoffreport.com, beacuse as soon as I read the email I looked it up on this website and sure enough my assumptions were confirmed. I hope this helps someone.
