My wife received a letter mailed to her stating that she had won 3rd category prize amounting to EURO$ 613,810. It included the lotto winning numbers, serial numbers and also ticket number.

It stated that the fund has been deposited with a bank or financial institution and to claim the prize, one had to contact an Alonso Eroski (Foreign Operations Manager) of Santalucia Seguros S.L. The claiming agent would charge a fee of 10% of the winning amount.

In response to the letter, my wife sent her details by fax to a number in Spain. The following day, she received a call from the claim agent and also faxed copies of award letter and certificates. They went on to say that the bank - Banco Santander would call later.

The day after, the 'bank' called to authenticate the claim. The 'bank' also faxed a certificate and letter to say that the 'insured fund' had been deposited with them and they would transfer the winning prize to my wife's account on the payment of EURO$710 for 'outstanding premium charges and cost of transfer'.

My internet line had been down for the duration of these exchanges. Only when it was repaired did I find out the truth on the internet and from www.ripoffreport.com

The bottom line? There is no such thing as a free lunch
