As a former employee of IMS Barter, I can say that I agree with Brenda's post. A company should be judged on the way they treat their clients and their employees. IMS should be judged very harshly.

During my employment , my manager was kept on even after being found guilty of sexual harassment.

Shoddy bookkeeping and an investigation from the Federal Trade Commission were common place.

The FTC investigation was for using clients credit cards to pay fees, which I was instructed to do by my manager.

Human resources and the whistle blower hotline was put into place after the sexual harassment lawsuit. It is a complete joke. This company feels they are above the law, and their management team can practice age descrimination, anti-semitism, and sexual harassment.

One female member of the management is especially brutal. If she wants to be a player, she needs to find a playground where clients and co-workers actually like her. I guess those issues come from rumoured drug and alcohol problems.

IMS was more interested in their bottom line than their clients. If you are not an "A"client you can forget about trading for topshelf items. Experienced, seasoned, brokers are now being replaced by $12.00 an hour employees from Craigs List. There are no background checks done, so I would be concerned if I was a client.

One female member of the management team called me bitter! I call myself better!

I now work for a wonderful company that knows how to treat clients and employees.

It starts with respect and dignity. I feel good about the fact that I am no longer ripping off clients! Clients beware, this from a former insider. In most cases there is one price for clients that trade, and one for regular people that pay cash! I feel sorry for the restaurants that can't change their prices, and get taken advantage of. Make sure you read the fine print in the contract!

The fees add up.
