INTERNATIONAL PAYOUT SERVICES Kernel Brissitt TELEPHONE SCAM St. James, Other
On 10-26-2010 we received a call from a person who called himself Peter Beck who said he was 25 minutes away and that we had won $500,000.00, a new Mercedes and three years of gas. Mr Beck said that he would be by the house to pick up a cashiers check in the amount of $499.00 or a receipt for a Western Union Money order that had been mailed to one Kernel Brissitt at 15 Queen st., St. James, Jamaica W.I. The number on our caller ID showed a Kingston Jamaica telephone number of 876-432-4202 When asked whom the check issuing party was, we were told it was International Payout Services. When asked to talk to a bank manager who would be issuing the check, we were told to call 1-567-252-2919. Contacting our telephone company I was told that the area code was for Toledo Ohio but the number was evidently not listed. On calling the number, the call was forwarded to an extension 7727 which was busy at the moment. An inter net search for International Payout Services revealed a fraud-scam. There was in addition a report from "The Gleaner", a Jamaica publisher reporting the company as fraudulent. We were contacted by another (closer) and when we informed her concerning the Bank managers phone number and questioned on whom the Bank was and where it was located, her call was terminated and Mr. Beck has neglected to stop by and see if we have his check........oh well, another Lottery from Jamaica lost! :)
