International Rebates, LLC – Major Scam For Gas Rebates

International Rebates, LLC is a scam. You’ll get offered rebates from this company if you donate a car or a boat through certain organizations, although you may get the offer from other scenarios.

The way it works is this. You get a form with a certificate number on it. You then have to send a letter to the company with some information, and they’ll email you a new form so you can submit gas rebates. You get the email and it says in the email you can reply via email with your information. News flash: you can’t. When I called to follow up, they said they do everything via mail even though it says you can send an email. I asked some questions, including how long I have to send my receipts, and they said I can send them anytime as long as they’re within a calendar month. LIES LIES LIES. If you look at some of the fine print, it says the rebates must be postmarked within 21 days of your gasoline purchase. So wait, you have 30 days to send in the paperwork, but the gas has to be purchased within 21 days of sending it? This is where I messed up. Because my receipts were not sent within 21 days, despite having 30 days to send them, it voided everything and I cannot have my program reinstated. This is extremely confusing.

I called and nicely asked for clarification and reconsideration, and was told by someone that the program is done and they can’t do anything. They refused to let me speak to a manager, saying that the person I was talking to is the manager. (Right. I believe you.) Also, I was on hold for over 10 minutes, and that’s cool, because I clearly have nothing to do with my life.

I acknowledge that my receipts may have been outside the 21 day window, as I can’t verify that they were not since I sent them in. However, this offer is purposely misleading and difficult to fulfill. The company does not want you to succeed. I mean, you have to only go to ONE gas station the entire time to get these rebates. Heaven forbid you need to buy gas elsewhere and you’re out of luck.

I have yet to receive my first rebate (it has not been sent yet and is due to me shortly) so we’ll see what happens with that. I am not hopeful.

I am incredibly upset at the lies I was told by customer service and misleading business practices. I would like to speak to a representative of the company if possible to remedy this situation.

If you are a company considering working with International Rebates, LLC, I highly recommend against it. You’ll take a good experience and turn it into a very negative one. I, for one, would have recommended a car donation company before, but now will not due to this experience.
