I had fallen for their speel. However I did luck out in one way, I paid by check and not credit card. I contacted them several times and only got a e-mail back saying that I was moving up in the rankings. At the end of the agreement I was still not ranked at all.
I asked for a refund via e-mail and sent one letter to no avail. They tried sending me bills to pay the monthly fee, and I refused. They sent me a sweet deal to continue, but no refund.
The following is the deal sent me!

Hello Don,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Jason M. Carter; I work quality control here at Internet Advancement. My job is to go through our client database and make sure that everyone is doing well with our services. Coming across your information, I noticed that your ranking report is not up to par at all, and something obviously needs to be done about it...

I'm definitely seeing the problem here. The competitiveness of your industry is such that the program you have is not quite aggressive enough for the keywords and key phrases that you wish to be found under. Your rankings are starting to show up, which means that the search engines are recognizing you, but your sales rep, for whatever reason, may not have realized how competitive of a market that you are in. This, obviously, is not your fault. It is also something, that as a reputable company, we must correct immediately.

Here's what we are going to do. First, we are going to give your service a $1000 upgrade for free. This will give you 10 more DIPs (Directory Information Pages), which is enough to push the keywords you are using up to the first page of the major engines. The other thing that I would be happy to do is to defer your payments for 2 months (2 payments) so that you will not have any additional financial burden while the extra DIPs take effect. I have no doubt that by the end of this 2-month term, you will be seeing the results that will make the cost of our services completely worthwhile. Once I receive a response from you I will implement these changes. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Jason M. Carter, Client Services / Technical Support Assistant Manager

Sounds like they should have done what they posted in the letter to start with. By the time they sent me this offer I had had it.
