I noticed a charge on my Verzon bill for $20.56. Verizon's explanation was that they are a 3rd party billing by ESBI for web hosting services provided by Internet Business advisors.

Verizon directed me to call them, which I did and was told that my daughter had signed up for their services. I told them absolutely not, and I wanted the "services" stopped immediately, which they said they would do and also block my account for future charges, but they would not give me a credit.

I filed a complaint with the FTC, and called state Utilities Commission, who advised me that Verizon can bill me, I, as the consumer have to pursue the vendor, and this type of scam is called "cramming".

Well I called back Verizon and advised them that I was not going to pay the amount and they said it was okay. I also got the rep's name, and informed them, that there should be no future charges.

I don't understand why anyone can submit a billing thru ESBI, and Verizon arbitrarily bills it's customers, and then the onus is on the customer to research and resolve something that they did not authorize in the first place.
