Received an offer of a "Free Lap" or "Free IPOD" or "Free Coupons" and decided to see what it was about. I could not continue with the survey until I clicked submit or accept. But was notified by the company after receiving a bill on my local telephone carrier and immediated call the company asking them about the charge of $19.99. This program apparently gives you 60% off of your Office Depot or Home Depot purchases. Once I see that pages and pages appear that I answer "no" to, I "x" out of the survey.

This company has all your information because that is what you enter before you do the survey. But what I do remember is that I could not continue with the survey unless I hit submit. That binded me to pay this $19.99 and the company will not remove the charge, but they will let you cancel the service. The company also said that they send you an e-mail message letting you know you have the service which give you a month to cancel. If you do not realize what you hit the submit button for, you do not realize you have this service. They say the fine print is in the left hand corner. I sure that they do not state the charges because I know that I would have refused.

When I tried to receive a refund, I told the company that I did not know anything about their services and it must have been an accident. They still refuse the charges. On my first call after trying to explain that I was unaware of the charges they told me my confidential information such as my D.O.B., and address. They ask you for your telephone number. So a course they can associate an address with the telephone number. There company name will not show on your local telephone bill, but they are billed through a third party, Enhanced Services Billing, Inc.

Since then I have asked my local telephone company to not to allow third party billing and I did cancel the service with this company. I gave the company the second time to remove the charges but they think that they are right and just like the first time I informed that I would contact the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Clark Howard, and this agency. They did not mind.
