In the 7 months that the firm I work for rented a dedicated server from Interserver the up time has been quite satisfactory. Unfortunately their business practices are as bad as the uptime is good.

The firm I worked for prepaid 18 months.

When we needed additional servers Interserver ignored our repeated requests for a quote so we went elsewhere. When it became apparent that the firm would be better off consolidating servers into a 1/4 or 1/2 rack at a data center, Interserver refused to answer simple questions about things like how they measured bandwidth.

So we found a local Data Center to rent us the rack space and I had the task of notifying Interserver that the firm I work for would no longer need their services. Interserver refused to refund the unused 11 months rudely citing vague "policy." There is nothing in their terms of service, either as of this writing or at the time the prepayment was made, to the effect that this dedicated server customer (not "virtual server" customer) would forfeit about $1,300 in prepayments.

While Interserver may have good up time, they appear ethically challenged to a point that I can't imagine any cutomer entrusting Interserver with monies or access to money.
